Safety Tips & Information

To ensure you get the maximum results from your wax melts whilst maintaining safety at all times please follow these simple but effective user instructions.

Wax Melts

Hunter-Bailey wax should only be used in appropriate wax melt burners.

PLEASE NOTE: You must never leave an in-use burner unattended.

Snap Bars:

Simply snap off a few cubes (we recommend 1 for a small burner and 2 for a larger burner) and pop them into your burner.

For Tealight Burners:

Simply add a tea light underneath and light the wick.  Keep using new tealights until you can no longer smell the scent, one cube of a Hunter-Bailey wax bar typically gives 8-16 hours of scent (depending on the fragrance) a total of 40-80 hours per bar. Please ensure you don't overfill your burner.

For Electric burners:

Many electric burners come with 3 settings, we recommend that you initially turn it to the highest setting for optimal scent throw, once you have reached this you can turn the burner down to allow it to simmer away.

The intensity of fragrance will depend on your room size, the temperature of the room, and amount of wax used.

For best results, always close your windows in the room you are burning the wax.

When the Scent is Spent:

There are a number of ways in which you can take the used wax out of your burner:

  • Wait until the wax cools and then gently place pressure on one end of the wax until it pops out.

  • Use cotton balls/pads to soak up melted/molten wax and then dispose of accordingly.

  • Once the wax and burner have cooled, but not set, you could pour the warm wax into a vessel and use it to make your own candles.

Please do not:

  • Use wipes and/or cleaning chemicals/products to clean the burner.

  • Use metal or sharp objects to clean out wax as this may crack or damage the burner or cause injury.

Please check the packaging for allergen advice. Keep away from children.

Please be assured that all Hunter-Bailey wax items are all CLP compliant.

Although some items may look and smell as if they are edible - they are not!

You are always advised to follow these instructions. These may not be reiterated on or within your order. Please ensure you read the instructions thoroughly to enhance safety when using the product.
